Question #2: Should we build to a finished goods supermarket or directly to shipping?
We may decide to begin with a finished goods supermarket for “A” items, and “produce to shipping” for all other sales order line items. This may yield a kind of “hybrid” of: “produce to FG supermarket” & “produce to shipping” simultaneousness.
As the shipping department withdraws from the FG supermarket to stage items for delivery, the kanban from those withdrawn items are sent back to assembly. Each of those kanban(s) essentially says, “The customer has just consumed these parts, please produce another kanban increment of these parts, and deliver to shipping”.
